2012 Accreditation Study Sessions Begin

Credentialing Chair

The annual study sessions for anyone interested in pursuing Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) are about to begin. The first session is set for 6-8:30 p.m. on Feb. 13 in Fort Myers. We will be meeting each Monday through April 23, and it’s not too late to join us! The study sessions are free as a benefit of your FPRA, Southwest Florida chapter membership.

If you are ready to make this important commitment and work toward adding those coveted initials to your name, please email me today! Or, if you have questions and want to know more about the process, I will be happy to help you with that as well.

Still Time to Nominate for Chrysalis Awards

The Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau (VCB) and the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Inc. are seeking nominations for the third annual Chrysalis Awards to honor businesses and individuals who have positively impacted the local community.  Considering many FPRA members either work for or represent tourism-related businesses this may be your chance to recognize your company or your peers.
The Award nominations deadline has been extended to 2/24/12, and is open to any local business, regardless of whether or not they are directly a part of the tourism industry. Award recipients will be announced at a jointly hosted Celebration of Business & Tourism Awards Luncheon and Trade Show on May 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Harborside Event Center in downtown Fort Myers.

Those who wish to nominate a business or individual to receive a Chrysalis Award can visit the Team Tourism section of www.LeeVCB.com.
