President's Word

Hello fellow members,

Wow! Even though “season” is winding down, it’s been a busy few weeks and there’s more to come for the SWFL Chapter of FPRA and its members – you!

Thanks to you we greatly exceeded our Local Image Award entry goal, receiving a whopping 32 entries! Congrats to all the entrants for taking the time to submit their work and I look forward to seeing many, if not all, of you at the Local Image Awards event on April 22 at the Alliance for the Arts. I can’t wait to celebrate your successes with you! If you haven’t registered, do so now online.

Before Image, however, we have our annual non-profit event, “Marketing Your Mission: Being Good at Doing Good.” It will take place on April 18 at Edison State College and will offer attendees a wealth of information on how to effectively leverage public relations within the non-profit industry.

Also, I’m excited to share we will be hosting the next quarterly state board meeting in Fort Myers on May 2 and 3. We invite you to come out to the reception on Friday evening at Hotel Indigo (more details to come) and meet other PR professionals from around the state. If you’re interested in taking on a leadership role in the chapter one day, I’d also encourage you to attend the state board meeting on Saturday morning. If you’re interested, feel free to contact me.

Finally, don’t forget Jessica Clark, APR is putting together the slate for next year’s leadership. If you’d like to learn about how you can enhance your membership and get more involved as a member of the leadership team or board, feel free to contact her.

Thank you for being a member of the Southwest Florida chapter of FPRA and for what you bring to our profession. See you soon and don’t forget to - Think FPRA!
